The internet as we know it today, is one of the greatest inventions of man.  It has shaped us into what we are today as a society.   The internet, along with business websites, have helped countless people achieve financial prosperity with their business.  This is through the goldmine of internet marketing, and below I give a few tips on how to increase traffic on your website so you can get “MORE business, for YOUR business.”
  1. You need to have a Blog; a Blog is a website filled with information, and it is written in an informal fashion, like a diary.  This that you are reading right now, is a perfect example of a blog.  This is talking about something that my client would benefit from, or would be interested in.  Having a blog enables you to have more traffic to your website, and also allows you to build your brand (and get more sales).  If you have a blog it is easier for people to find you on search engines and thus; more people will visit your website.
  2. Have a social media presence; Instagram, Facebook, twitter, Tumblr, and Pinterest, to name a few, are some of the most popular social media sites around today.  Having a social media presence is paramount in generating more traffic to your website, as you are able to build a brand through your posts.  This also helps you in connecting with people who visit your website.  This does however, require installation of the pixel into the website code.
  3. Making a Youtube channel; Youtube is currently the 3rd largest website in the world. Having a YouTube channel can help you increase your traffic to your website, simply because you can post videos that relate to your brand, while offering the link to your website below the video.  YouTube channels appeal to millennials and younger demographics, so there’s that bonus.  Plus, it’s quite easy to make YouTube videos.  All you need is good content, a decent camera, and a bright smile.  Your website will definitely get more traffic, which is why video has become one of the most popular ways to do internet marketing.
  4. Starting a Podcast; if you’re shy on camera, you can start a podcast.  A podcast is your own radio show that you record, and then can list for download for your listeners and subscribers.  Most business owners that take this approach use the podcast to talk about issues that matter to their customer base, and use it to promote a brand at the same time.  You can provide a link to your website so that the listeners can access it.
  5. Leveraging the Analytics; to reach a certain goal, one must plan and have a record of how he/she is going to reach that goal.  Analytics, which is the simply the analysis of data, can be done on your website.  This will show the demographics of how your visitors behave on your website, and can be used to further optimize your website to better suit your customer.  Google Analytics is a free tool that can enable you to do just that.

So there you have it.  If you employ these tips on your website, you are guaranteed to have more traffic.  In otherwords, you will have “MORE business, for YOUR business.”

If you have a website for your business, you probably how important it is to have as much traffic as possible.  A high google ranking helps you achieve this by getting more clicks on your website.  One of the most important things, is that you have your keywords that you would like to rank for, prominent in your website content.  Aside from that, you can also improve your rank on Google by making sure you do the following:

  • Fix any technical SEO issues on your site: The presence of technical issues on your site can greatly influence your Google ranking.  Most of the most common issues are typically simple fixes, and there are a variety of tools one can use to locate technical SEO site issues in your site.  For example, you can use our free audit tool that goes through your website and identifies the technical problems in relation to SEO.  You can use that tool by clicking HERE.
  • Find and eliminate Outdated or zombie pages;  Google does not want you to publish just for the sake of volume or the size of your site, but they prefer you to publish fewer, but high quality pages.  As the saying goes; “Quality over Quantity”.  Zombie pages can be for example pages with duplicate content, old press releases, or old search results pages, or pages that no longer have any value. These are also called “dead URL’s.  Google hates these, and it appears that your page is not maintained, and therefore not an authority.
  • On-page SEO optimization; You should also individually optimize the actual pages on your website.  A great example of this is using LSI keywords, which are terms that are closely related to your keyword. When you use these terms as the title of your page, or at the beginning of your pages, you will get a rankings boost for those keywords.  Be careful though, don’t stuff the keyword too many times on one page.  This will get you a penalty from Google, and can hurt your rankings.

If your website visitors are waiting more than three seconds for your page to load, you are losing up to 40% of your site visitors."

  • Optimize title and description tag for click-through rate (CTR)  CTR  is a huge ranking factor in that; the more people searching for a keyword that click on your result, the more Google acknowledges your link as the best result.  This means that in your Meta Title and Meta Description, make sure you use keywords and phrasing that is going to result in a higher link click rate.  For example:  If you are a plumber, it would be best to use terms like “Emergency Plumbing, City Name, Top Rated”, as opposed to “Plumber, Plumbing, looking for plumber”.
  • Optimize the dwell time of your website; Dwell time is simply the amount of time one spends on your website.  The other side of this is the bounce rate.  The longer the dwell time, the lower the bounce rate.  Dwell time can be increased by; making your introductions more catchy and sticky so as to glue the reader.   Also, make the page more appealing to the readers eye.  This will definitely increase the dwell time.  The best thing to decrease the bounce rate, is engaging content.  If your page offers information, make it readily available, easily and clearly.  If you offer a service, make contacting the company the most apparent option on the page.  Also, bounce rate skyrockets if your page doesn’t load quickly, which brings me to my next point.
  • Improve the page loading speed; If your website visitors are waiting more than three seconds for your page to load, you are losing up to 40% of your site visitors. You should therefore improve the loading speed of your page.  This can be done by a variety of ways, including the minimization of additional html and javascripts that you have on the page.  It can also help to decrease the size of the images on your website.  Most folks use high definition images on their site, which looks great.  The problem is, that those HD images can take some time to load, and loading speed is HUGE when it comes to your Google ranking.  There are free tools that you can use to analyze the speed of your website, including one of the best by Google.

If you employ these steps you absolutely are going to improve your Google rankings and therefore, increase your website traffic!  If you have any questions about any of these steps, or would just like some additional information on how to get your website generating business for you everyday, just reach out by phone, or Contact Us by clicking HERE.

Google uses an algorithm to give websites their rankings. These scores are based on many different things. Think of this algorithm like empty buckets. The more you fill them, the higher your score is in this algorithm. Each bucket has a different ingredient to be filled with.  There are thousands of buckets for this algorithm. While Google keeps the specifics a well-hidden secret, the good thing is that the main objectives are known, and you can take advantage of this to push your website to the top of the rankings.  If your website isn't on the first page of Google, it's not a website.  It's a brochure.  In a closet.  The following are some of the guidelines that will allow you to achieve the highest score in this algorithm.

If your website isn't on the first page of Google, it's not a website.  It's a brochure.  In a closet."
1.   Quality of content:
THIS is THE fundamental point related to any website. Most business owners will write about 100-200 words describing their business, because they believe that is all the customer needs.  The fact is, the customer will never see it if you don’t have at least 1000 words of AUTHORITATIVE content.  The quality of your content should be paramount, and don’t compromise or get lazy. Hire good writers and bloggers who will write or post high quality content for your website. By doing this, your website ranking will be automatically increased and you will, of course, get more traffic. Whenever you start a new website, simply forget about traffic rate. Pay more attention to the content and material of your website.

2.   Trust of users:
Google will rank a website based on how trustworthy it is, and how much authority it carries in a particular field.  Google shows it’s users what is good and trustworthy.  Gain Google’s trust, and your SEO ranking will be higher, bringing more traffic to your site.  Think about Wikipedia as an example.  You can search for anything, like goat cheese or Mike Tyson.  The first result will be a Wikipedia page.  WHY?  It’s because Google recognizes Wikipedia as an authority.  They have tons of great and authoritative content on any subject.  In short, Google TRUSTS Wikipedia.  If you have poor reviews on your Google My Business listing, then Google will penalize your site, and may not include you in it’s trust bucket. This will result in fewer viewers.  In order to build trust with Google, you need to have links to your site that are placed within the content of reputable sites in your niche.  These links can be difficult to obtain, and so we recommend you using a reputable SEO Consulting Service that can help you.  This will help you with the next point.

3.   Authority:
It is the last big bucket in SEO marketing.  Search engines only show websites to their users which that are popular.  So make your website popular and authoritative, and then it is just time.  Share your links to social media and other linked accounts.  Ask others to share it if they got something out of it.  This shows Google how popular your website is, and so it becomes more of an authority in that niche.  When people search the right keywords, google will place your website near the top of the rankings on that subject.  Ask visitors and clients for their comments and testimonials. Post pictures of people wearing or using your stuff. It will definitely tell the search engines that your website is reputable, and they will increase your index in terms of authority.
These three are fundamentals of SEO marketing.
